Spotlight on Tarlow, Naito & Summers, LLP

Construction Lawyers, Professional Associate Member

Tarlow, Naito & Summers, LLP is a small but dynamic Portland law firm emphasizing real estate, construction, business, creditor’s rights, bankruptcy, and complex litigation concerning all of the above. They are licensed in Oregon and Washington and strive to provide high-quality, cost-effective, and timely legal services to their clients. Whether they are engaged to document and close a transaction or to litigate a business dispute, their goal is to reach the finish line as quickly and inexpensively as possible.

Steve Naito and Brent Summers carry on the tradition of excellence in cost-effective dispute resolution in business, real estate, and construction cases fostered by their mentor and former partner, Art Tarlow, RIP. Although they lost Art in 2010, they know he would have said here, simply: “We do transaction through trials and we get results.”

The Tarlow law firm has been a member of AGC for more than 30 years, and the Tarlow, Naito & Summers version was formed in 2001. They have always enjoyed spending time with the good people that participate in the work of AGC and its events and programs, including many of their clients, members of all types, and staff. Tarlow, Nailto & Summers has learned a great deal about the construction industry from their participation, and AGC helps them stay current on the legal and business issues AGC members face.

In the construction area, Tarlow, Naito & Summers have represented owners, contractors, design professionals, and specialty subcontractors and suppliers in Oregon, Washington, and throughout the country. They also have extensive experience representing financial institutions in preparation of loan documents and all aspects of enforcement of lender’s rights both before and during bankruptcy proceedings. Tarlow Naito & Summers has a special emphasis on representing lenders in construction disputes. They have represented several financial institutions and many private investors.
