The AGC Oregon-Columbia Chapter today announced the selection of Josh Tompkins as its next chief executive officer. Tompkins is expected to join the organization in May 2026 and will work closely with current CEO Mike Salsgiver during a structured transition period through the remainder of the year. Salsgiver will retire in January 2027 after 19 years of leadership with the chapter.
Tompkins brings extensive experience in business, public policy, and regional economic affairs, along with a long-standing connection to the AGC Oregon-Columbia Chapter and its members. His background and familiarity with the construction industry position him well to lead the organization’s continued focus on advocacy, workforce development, member engagement, and safety services.
“We are pleased to welcome Josh Tompkins as the next chief executive officer of the AGC Oregon-Columbia Chapter,” said Brandon Flint, president of the AGC Board of Directors. “Josh brings a strong understanding of the intersection between business and public policy, as well as a demonstrated commitment to our industry. The board is confident that he will provide steady leadership and build on the chapter’s long-standing work on behalf of our members.”
Tompkins noted his appreciation for the opportunity and the importance of continuity during the transition period. “I am honored to be selected to serve as the next CEO of the AGC Oregon-Columbia Chapter,” said Tompkins. “This organization has a strong reputation and plays a critical role in supporting the commercial construction industry across the region. I look forward to working alongside Mike and the team over the coming months to ensure a smooth transition and to continue advancing the chapter’s priorities.”
Salsgiver, who has led the chapter since 2008, expressed confidence in the organization’s future. “It has been a privilege to serve the AGC Oregon-Columbia Chapter and its members over the past 19 years,” said Salsgiver. “Josh is well-prepared to take on this role, and I look forward to working with him during the transition to ensure continuity in our work and relationships. The chapter is well-positioned for the future.”
