Get to Know SAIF

AGC would not be able to have the successful events and meetings without our generous partners! As a benefit of our yearly Partner Program, we spotlight some of our member partner companies.

SAIF is Oregon’s not-for-profit workers’ compensation insurance company. Since 1914, we’ve been taking care of injured workers, helping people get back to work, and keeping rates low by focusing on workplace safety. Together with partners like AGC, we strive to make Oregon the safest and healthiest place to work.

Our mission is pretty unique: “To serve Oregon’s workers and employers by making workers’ compensation coverage widely available and affordable, and by providing extraordinary service.”

That service includes unparalleled experience in helping high-risk industries improve safety, including construction. Among employers that choose an outside insurance provider, we insure 75% of construction companies.

With 79 safety and health experts, SAIF has the largest network of workplace safety professionals of any insurance provider in Oregon. SAIF also partners with 22 group association safety consultants for high-risk injuries—including six from AGC.

The SAIF/AGC Partnership

Our partnership with AGC is extremely valuable. We’re honored to partner with a committed organization that shares our values about workplace safety and other aspects of workers’ comp. And like SAIF, AGC is focused on serving both workers and employers—creating safer workplaces, reducing workplace injuries and illnesses, saving money and, most importantly, saving lives.

It’s no secret that construction workers suffer on-the-job injuries at a higher rate than average, and those injuries are often severe. This is compounded by increased construction activity over the past few years, and a continued shortage of qualified workers—presenting unique safety challenges. We believe the combined expertise of AGC and SAIF helps get us closer to the goal of zero workplace injuries.
