Changes to Federal OSHA’s Strategic Partnership Program

OSHA has issued notified regional administrators to discontinue some incentives for participation in longstanding partnership programs, including the Voluntary Protection Program (VPP), Safety and Health Achievement Recognition Program (SHARP), and potentially state programs.

This has the potential to affect Oregon contractors involved in partnership programs that are working on projects under federal jurisdiction.

A memorandum detailing changes was sent to OSHA regional administrators on July 27. View the memorandum here.

We know this action will not affect the chapter’s Safety PRIDE (Program Recognition Indicating Dedication and Excellence) designation, but significant impact on other well-known recognition programs.
