Founded in 1994, Stewart Sokol & Larkin, LLC (“SSL”) is a boutique law firm specializing in providing excellent legal services to businesses involved in all aspects of the construction industry, from contract drafting and routine legal advice to the pursuit of claims and representation in arbitrations and litigation. Though SSL is headquartered in Portland, its clients range from small businesses in the Pacific Northwest to large multi-national contracting companies, and SSL represents their interests in connection with projects across the nation and overseas.
SSL’s mission is to provide their clients with the highest level of legal service in an aggressive, though pragmatic and cost-effective manner in order to help clients achieve the best possible result for their business. SSL’s history of successfully doing just that is why many of its clients have trusted the firm to serve as their lawyers for decades.
SSL’s key focus this year is to affirmatively help their construction industry clients implement internal documentation and processes (by improving contract documents, cost-tracking procedures and claims preservation and preparation strategies) aimed at minimizing the substantial risks inherent in the industry, so their clients are better situated when unresolved claims and disputes reach the litigation stage.
SSL highly values, takes great pride in, and thoroughly enjoys the close personal relationships they have developed with their valued clients over the years. SSL views their clients as being part of their family, and not only represents them to the best of their abilities but also relishs the opportunity to spend time with them outside of their legal disputes to join them in celebrating their successes.
SSL also values its long-standing relationship with AGC. Many of the firm’s clients are members of AGC and the attorneys at SSL are passionate about the many causes and organizations AGC supports and enjoys spending time helping fellow members achieve shared goals. Over the years, SSL attorneys have presented on a number of topics at AGC conventions and events. These presentations often focus on risk-minimizing strategies and processes that benefit clients and streamline SSL’s legal representation.
