Oregon OSHA Features Fortis Safety Director

Demetra Star, Safety Director, Fortis ConstructionOregon OSHA recently released their June–July issue of their Health and Safety Resource. In their “Going the Distance” article they focus on Demetra Star, safety director for chapter member Fortis Construction. Demetra has been with Fortis for eight years and recently won a Safety Committee Award at the Oregon Governor’s Occupational Safety and Health Conference (GOSH).

In the article Demetra discusses challenges on Fortis projects and how she keeps her crews engaged in safety issues every day.

In addition to the article featuring Demetra, the publication also focuses on work zone safety, preventing backover accidents, and protecting workers from heat stress.
