Medical Community in Urgent Need of Personal Protection Equipment

[Updated March 24] The medical community in Oregon is urgently requesting any spare personal protection equipment to keep medical providers safe while treating patients with COVID-19. There is an insufficient supply at this point, and medical facilities could run out of PPE within a matter of days. Some providers are already being forced to reuse masks.

We have had several requests to AGC members for PPE, particularly following Vice President Pence’s statement last week calling for construction companies to share spare PPE with medical professionals. In particular, the medical community is asking for N95 masks, surgical or procedural masks, gowns, eye protection, gloves, and purple top wipes.

OHA has drop-off/mail sites for any PPE that you have to donate:

  • Salem area: Dept. of Corrections, ATTN: PPE Coordinator, 3601 State Street, Salem, OR 97301
  • Portland area: Donations can be made Monday–Friday, 9 am– 5 pm, or mailed to: Center for Health & Healing Building 1 Loading Dock, Attn: COVID-19 Supplies, 3303 SW Bond Ave., Portland OR 97239

Additionally, AGC is coordinating through Oregon Health Authority to collect information on what PPE contractors in Oregon have to share with the medical community. If you have any supplies that you can donate (or have large enough quantity of supply to sell) and you’d rather be contacted about it, please contact Kirsten Adams with your company name, contact information, and what you have available. Or you can fill out an online form here.

Thank you for generosity and willingness to help those fighting this virus.
