Online Competent Person Safety Training

AGC now offers online options for all competent person training. Courses are completely self-directed and available wherever an internet connection is available.

Available Classes

This class will cover the use and inspection of scaffolds, and will provide an overview of the scaffold requirements for OSHA, Oregon, and Washington. Training will include the various types of scaffolds, load requirements, hazards in the work place, falling objects, and worker protection.

OSHA rules require, when applied to fall protection systems, the competent person must have training in, and be knowledgeable about, the use, maintenance, and inspection of protective systems and the requirements of the standard. In addition, the competent person must have the authority to take immediate action if a hazard exists. This course will cover the fall protection requirements compliant with OSHA, Oregon, and Washington regulations.

In addition, the competent person must have the authority to take immediate action if a hazard exists.

Scaffold

This class will cover the use and inspection of scaffolds, and will provide an overview of the scaffold requirements for OSHA, Oregon, and Washington. Training will include the various types of scaffolds, load requirements, hazards in the work place, falling objects, and worker protection.

The law requires that employees shall be trained prior to working in confined spaces/permit required confined spaces. The course will prepare you to recognize confined spaces/permit required confined spaces, how to evaluate the hazards in the work space, and how to control those hazards to accomplish the work required and safely exit area.

OSHA rules require, when applied to trenching or excavation operations, the competent person must have training in, and be knowledgeable about, soil analysis, the use of protective systems, and the requirements of the standard. In addition, the competent person must have the authority to take immediate action if a hazard exists.

Each person who completes the course and passes a final examination receives an identification card acknowledging they are in compliance with the OSHA required standards.
