AGC offers many opportunities for safety training at both the chapter and national organizations.
Chapter Safety Training
AGC meets the needs of the construction industry by making available safety training courses required by OSHA. Each attendee will receive a certification card showing that the course meets the OSHA requirements.
To help contractors and employees plan ahead, we schedule our training for the entire year. If these dates or trainings do not work for you we can put together a custom class that will suit your needs.

AGC of America has several safety training programs designed to help contractors improve worker safety and reduce accidents.
- AGCA’s Safety Management Training Course (SMTC)
SMTC provides attendees three days of training on the basic skills needed to manage a safety management program for the construction industry. Participants will receive instruction and training that will allow them to return to their firms with readily applicable new skills. Ideal candidates have responsibilities that include safety from firms that recognize safety as a paramount function.
- AGCA Advanced Safety Management Training Course (ASMTC)
ASMTC is a unique three day course, which will provide a high level training experience for safety professionals and company managers who have a solid background in construction safety and health. This course will enhance a participant’s ability to manage all aspects of safety and health for their companies on field safety, insurance issues, and legal and liability issues

Designed to allow the student to learn and work at his/her own pace, these courses are great for learning opportunities to gain new skills and meet professional development requirements. - OSHA 10-hr Construction Industry Training Program w/Study Guide
The 10-hour Construction Industry Outreach Training Program is intended to provide an entry level construction workers general awareness on recognizing and preventing hazards on a construction site. OSHA recommends Outreach Training Program courses as an orientation to occupational safety and health for workers covered by OSHA 29 CFR 1926. Workers must receive additional training, when required by OSHA standards, on the specific hazards of the job. Upon successful completion of the course, participants will receive an OSHA 10-Hour Construction Outreach DOL course completion card within 6-8 weeks.
- OSHA 30-hr Construction Industry Training Program w/ Study Guide
The OSHA 30 Hour Construction Industry Outreach Training course is a comprehensive safety program designed for anyone involved in the construction industry. Specifically devised for safety directors, foremen, and field supervisors; the program provides complete information on OSHA compliance issues. OSHA recommends Outreach Training Programs as an orientation to occupational safety and health for workers covered by OSHA 29 CFR 1926. Construction workers must receive additional training, when required by OSHA standards, on specific hazards of the job. Upon successful completion of the OSHA 30 Hour Construction Industry Outreach training program, participants will receive an OSHA 30 Hour Construction Outreach Training course completion card within 6-8 weeks
