What is a Specialty Contractor?

A specialty contractor member (SC) is defined as any individual or firm who cannot qualify for membership as a general contractor member, but who performs a portion of the work on a construction site and has not undertaken a volume of work as a “general contractor” that amounts to more than 25% of their total volume of business measured over the two preceding calendar years.

The AGC membership year begins July 1 and ends June 30 of the subsequent year. Dues are prorated based on the month of start of membership.

Dues are based upon the volume of work performed by the member within chapter territory during the previous calendar year.
