24-Hour Fall Protection EM 385 1-1

This 24 hour course includes in class, physical 24 hr fall protect pic2
demonstrations, and practical hands on activities
on how to properly select, inspect, install, assemble,
and use fall protection equipment. It is designed
to meet OSHA and EM-385-1-1-2014 regulations
and is mandatory if awarded an Army Corps project.


Training includes inspecting systems prior to use,
installation, component compatibility, estimating free
all distances, total required clearance, dismantling,
storage,and the common hazards associated
with each system and component.

Competent person training includes:

  • Overview of Fall standards for Washington State, ANSI A10.32, ANSI Z359 and EM-385-1-1-2014
  • Fall hazard recognition
  • Fall hazard elimination and controls methods
  • Hierarchy of Fall prevention methods
  • Applicable fall protection regulations
  • Fall hazard surveys and fall protection procedures
  • The responsibilities of designated persons under this standard
  • Detailed inspection of equipment components and systems
  • Fall protection rescue procedures
  • The selection and use of non-certified anchorages
  • Fall Protection on Aerial Lifts and Ladders
  • Hands on exercises and inspections
  • Storage and care of equipment

Classes are held at the AGC Center, 9450 SW Commerce Circle, Suite 200,
Wilsonville, Oregon 97070.

All classes are from 8:00 am–5:00 pm, Thursday–Saturday
