Operations Clerk

The Northwest College of Construction, located in Portland, Oregon, is accepting applications for a part-time operations clerk. The pay for this position is $15.00 per hour, 24-30 hours per week.

Position Summary

The operations clerk is responsible for providing general department support with a variety of clerical duties and related tasks.

  • Accurate organization, filing and scanning of records pertaining to students, instructors, curriculum, etc.
  • Ensure all records are processed to the requirements of the accrediting agency.
  • Assist with verification of student exams and performance grades.
  • Distribute classroom paperwork to students and instructors.
  • Help track required class make-ups.
  • Create student records in registration database.
  • Manage facility rentals and events.
  • Assist with classroom set-up and clean-up for events, rentals, and other uses.
  • Assist with projects and mailings, as required.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • 1+ years’ clerical experience
  • Familiar with MS Office products
  • Excellent communication, customer service, and problem solving skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
  • Ability to organize and prioritize projects and meet strict deadlines
  • Attention to detail is necessary
  • Ability to work productively in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful, environment
  • Able to work independently, without many detailed instructions, and cooperatively with others
  • Experience with apprenticeship trade programs, preferred
  • Experience with FileMaker Pro is preferred.
