Primary Responsibilities: prepare cost estimates on private, county, state, and municipal projects. Includes job costing, billing, collections, as well as cultivating successful relationships with customers, co-workers, suppliers, and sub-contractors.

PROJECT MANAGEMENT

Title of Position: Construction Superintendent, Bayview Transit Mix, Inc., specializing in asphalt pavement construction and supply of construction materials. Asphalt Paving Award winner, Excellence in Concrete Award Winner.

Position Location: Seaside, Oregon

Position Description: Full time position. Participates as a team member and promotes company safety program. Working superintendent oversees and conducts daily road building and asphalt paving operations. Responsible for job planning and coordination, as well as staffing. Will include extended hours, including night work.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manages and participates in all aspects of a paving operation, including keeping daily detailed job records

  • Supervises, directs and dispatches grading and paving crews, trucks, equipment, etc., in accordance with the company’s policies and applicable laws

  • Works closely with contractors, state and local municipalities, inspectors, customers, and with the general public

  • Available to work extended hours

Skills:

  • Knowledge of asphalt paving and grading operations

  • Able to complete projects in a timely and correct manner

  • Good written and oral communication

  • Accurate documentation ability

  • Good people skills and customer relations

  • Leadership capabilities

  • Ability to communicate with state and local agencies and inspectors

  • Can work under pressure

  • Team player

  • Possess or able to obtain valid Class A Commercial Drivers License

  • Must pass pre-employment drug screen.

Education/Experience Requirements: Prefer minimum 10 years experience grading and paving. Community leadership and involvement a plus.

Title of Position: Construction Superintendent, Walsh Construction Company

Position Location: Seattle, Washington

Essential Responsibilities: the ideal candidate will have 10+ years experience building $5+ million commercial and multi-family projects. Successful candidate will have proven record of accomplishment in all phases of project management and extensive structural concrete, steel, and wood frame experience.

  • Safety– Manages the overall safety of the job site and relevant surrounding areas and sets the tone for achieving positive safety results on the project.

  • Quality – Ensures that each project is delivered to the client with the highest level of quality.

  • Schedule – Develops the project schedule and effectively manages all of the project schedule dates to meet scheduled milestones and completion date.

  • Budget – Effectively manages the cost of work to ensure costs do not exceed budget.

  • Communication & Management – Facilitates communication and management of the job site and ensures that all parties involved are aware of their responsibilities and informed of project status and expectations.

  • Job Site Administration & Logistics – Ensures that relevant project records are processed and maintained as required and that the logistics of the project support the schedule.

Additional Requirements:

  • Must be an efficient, organized, multi-tasking, and positive minded team player.

  • Working knowledge of computer programs including: Excel, Word, Outlook, MS Project, and project management systems such as CMiC.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Formal Education: High school education or equivalent. Four year degree in building science, construction management, or engineering preferred or equivalent experience.

  • Previous Job Performance/Experience Required: Thorough working knowledge of wood frame and concrete multi-family and commercial construction as related to all disciplines and phases of construction. A minimum of 10 years of experience in the construction industry and a minimum of ten years of previous experience as a superintendent required.

Title of Position: Corporate Safety/Industrial Hygiene (IH) Manager

Position Location: Medford, Oregon

Position Summary:

A leading industrial coatings applicator is looking to fill the position of Corporate Safety/IH Manager. The primary responsibility of this position will be to ensure the safety of employees through the responsible management of the F.D. Thomas, Inc. safety and industrial hygiene program.

Primary Responsibilities:

  1. Plan and administer site specific safety plans, including but not limited to:

  • Respiratory Protection

  • Fall Protection

  • Confined Space

  • Lead Abatement

  • Hazardous Communication

  1. Insure company procedures and policies meet government compliance standards

  2. Schedule, collect and monitor IH samples

  3. Ensure orientation and training of new hires

  4. Accident and incident investigations

  5. Site safety audits and recommendations

  6. Calibration and upkeep of monitoring equipment

Skills:

  1. Must have a broad and current knowledge in the theory and practice of industrial hygiene including methods, procedures, and techniques used in collecting samples and testing for health hazards common in the industrial painting business such as dusts, mists, vapors, noise, etc.

  2. Must have the ability to assess and manage industrial hygiene problems by finding or creating working solutions.

  3. Must have a working knowledge of all state and federal OSHA regulations as they relate to the construction industry.

  4. Must have the ability to communicate technical information to project leaders in a concise and clear manner.

  5. Must have the ability to prepare documentation, write reports, conduct investigations, and compile gathered information.

  6. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications (i.e. Excel, Word,)

  7. Must have ability to organize and prioritize work

  8. Must have ability to work independently

Education/Work Experience:

  1. Must have a bachelor’s degree in IH or a related science

  2. Would prefer construction related education such as OSHA 500

  3. Must have at least 3 years of construction related work experience

Travel Requirements: Must be willing to travel as needed
