Recognition of Safety Excellence Awards |
The ROSE Award is the Oregon-Columbia Chapter’s own local safety award
which serves two distinct purposes:
-
To recognize chapter member construction companies who excel at safety
performance and who have developed and implemented excellent safety and
loss prevention programs; and
-
To provide a method for nomination of the chapter’s best candidates
for entry to AGCA’s Construction Safety Excellence Awards (CSEA)
program.
Several award categories allow contractors to compete by work type and
company size, based on total work hours. Participants will be required
to complete the application forms
and submit them to the Oregon-Columbia
chapter where finalists are selected and will have an opportunity to
give a short oral presentation in front of three neutral judges.
Each candidate’s commitment to safety and occupational health management
and risk control is closely examined. Lost time injury rates and
recordable injury rates are important but will not be the only metric
used to determine winners. Judges look for evidence of company
management commitment, active employee participation, safety training,
work site hazard identification and control, and safety program
innovation.
The judges also award special recognition for the firm with the most
exceptional safety program and presentation. The winners will be
formally announced at the Awards Dinner during the Chapter Annual
Business Meeting.
