Strategies for Dealing with Oregon's New Tax Requirements

Ballot measures 66 and 67 passed. Now what? On January 29, voters approved two new tax measures that will impact all Oregon businesses as well as individuals making more than $125,000 per year. S Corporation? C Corporation? LLC?: Is one corporate structure more advantageous than another? What is the impact to you personally as a business owner? What new costs can you expect the next time you renew your Oregon corporation license? Don L. Pinkham, CPA, Medford, will lead a discussion on what you need to know to minimize your tax exposure in the years to come.

New ODOT DBE NAICS Requirements

In March, the Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) is adopting a significant rule change that will impace general contractors and minority-owned businesses alike.

Effective March 1, DBE businesses must be certified within specific NAICS codes in order for their participation to be counted toward project commitments of DBE participation on ODOT projects. ODOT bids from general contractors who select minority-owned businesses not certified within the appropriate NAICS code could unknowingly be deemed non=responsive to project goals. Minority-owned construction companies who represent their ability to do certain work will have new requirements as well.

Successful Communication on a Construction Team

Held in partnership with the Construction Specifications Institute (CSI). The session will feature a contractor, architect, designer, and owner’s rep discussing effective communication from their perspective – what works and what doesn’t.
