2008 Annual Meeting

 Embassy Suites Portland Downtown
Friday, January 18

The Annual Business Meeting is much more than a meeting…it’s an event! Join us on Friday, January 18 at the Embassy Suites Portland Downtown for education, networking, chapter business, and celebration.

Why Attend the Annual Business Meeting?

As a member of AGC, the annual business meeting is an excellent way to learn exactly what the chapter is doing for you and your company. It’s also a great place for you to mingle with the chapter leadership and let them know exactly what you would like the chapter to do for the industry; it is an excellent forum to have your voice heard.

The economic forecast is an annual event, and John Mitchell is returning by popular demand. John not only provides national information, he also provides state and local, as well as construction-specific data and predictions. If you haven’t heard John before, take this opportunity to see him in action. Forget those boring forecasts of the past…John brings his sense of humor to his presentations.

New This year

Safety is the leading issue for the construction industry, and the Oregon-Columbia Chapter works hard to keep our members safe on the jobsite. Recipients of the annual Recognition of Safety Excellence (ROSE) Awards will be recognized at our new Safety Luncheon. Recipients of the ROSE Award are nominated for national AGC of America awards, which are awarded at the annual convention in March. The chapter has a proud history of national awards, and we expect this year to be no different.

Not so new this year is the New Member Welcome, the surprise hit of 2007. Members who have joined the chapter in 2007 are invited to attend this get-to-know-you reception, and all members are encouraged to join in and welcome them to the association. This is a perfect way for new (and not-so-new) members to meet some of the biggest players in the construction community. What better way to build your business than to build your industry relationships?

This year’s format will begin with the ROSE Awards, followed by John Mitchell’s economic forecast, and the annual membership and board of directors meetings. The afternoon will conclude with a festive reception, dinner, and installation of the 2008 officers.
