  • Vice Chair: Tony Rocci, Patriot Fire Protection
  • Staff Liaison: Emily Schrum, 503-685-8321

Represent

Influence

  • Identify and respond to industry issues—internally and externally (both within AGC and outside of the association)
  • Ensure that specialty contractors have representation and leadership roles on AGC Oregon-Columbia Board of Directors, in numbers that make sense for the number of specialty contractor members that we represent.
  • Be a help to the AGC O-C staff and Executive Committee as it relates to specialty contractor members. Be seen as a positive influence on all.
  • Recommend forums or task forces to discuss industry issues. Articulate issues in ways that cause GCs and other members to want to engage in discussions.
  • Be seen as a group providing solutions to issues in the industry and in the AGC O-C.

Communicate

  • Increase specialty contractor member awareness of AGC’s resources, services, initiatives, and opportunities through effective communications.
  • Provide meeting/educational session attendees additional information regarding the value of AGC.
  • Provide opportunities for dialog between specialty contractors, general contractors, and government agencies—a united voice for the industry.

Educate

  • Inform specialty contractors of legislative issues impacting the construction industry each year—what we are doing and how they can help or get involved.
  • Annually present to the Executive Committee a summary of specific issues that affect the industry, general contractors, and specialty contractors. Ask for work groups to be set up to address these issues.
  • Coordinate/sponsor educational sessions. Create a schedule of upcoming events, speakers, and topics.

Develop Local and National Leaders

  • Integrate specialty contractors in the AGC association world both locally and nationally—participate on various committees, task forces, and other opportunities to address specific issues impacting the daily operation of the specialty contractor.
  • Identify and promote the involvement of specialty contractors with AGC leadership at both the chapter and national level
  • Identify individuals for grooming to be chapter leaders
